Mr Michael Lim Choo San Appointed Chairman of
Pro-Tem Singaopre Accountancy Council

ICPAS Member Mr Michael Lim Choo San, FCPA Singapore, has been appointed chairman of Pro-Tem Singapore Accountancy Council from October 1. The council was formed in September last year to drive key initiatives to transform Singpore into a global accountancy hub by 2020. The Finance Ministry said Mr Lim takes over from Mr Bobby Chin who has completed his one-year term as Pro-Tem SAC chairman

Financial Reporting Standard (FRS) 18 Revenue states that for sale of goods, one of the criteria to recognise revenue is when the entity has transferred to the buyer the significant risks and rewards associated with ownership of the goods. The aim of this Practical Guidance is to provide auditors with some guidance when performing sales and purchases cut-off procedures for companies engaged in local and/or overseas trading sales of goods.
