ICPAS NEW CITY CAMPUS OFFERS BRAIN FOOD DURING LUNCH

24 April 2007, Singapore  -- The training arm of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS) - Singapore Accountancy Academy (SAA) – opens its City Campus right in the heart of the business district today.

Commenting on the opening, President of ICPAS, Mr Tan Boen Eng said, “In this knowledge-driven global economy, we recognise the need to foster a suitable environment and cultivate the passion for lifelong learning. In achieving its vision to be the premier accountancy academy in the region, our training arm, SAA is committed to providing the necessary resources and infrastructure to create a vibrant and conducive learning environment. As a result, this vital new facility is born.”

In conjunction with the opening, SAA also launches the "ICPAS Lunchbox Series" to offer quick bites on accounting, tax, business, management and more to the busy working group to encourage continuous learning and personal development.

Mr Tan added, “We are mindful that the working adults have a very demanding schedule both at work and at home. Hence it may be a challenge for some to commit their time to training and courses during office hours and after work. To this end, we are pleased to offer our ICPAS Lunchbox Series. With the proximity to the many working adults in the CBD area plus the convenient timing, we hope to facilitate the working adults to make good use of their lunch time in taking up the concise but power-packed talks and encourage greater participation for personal advancement.”

The acquirement of the entire floor of the centrally located property is timely. Besides meeting the growing need for space, the new and improved facility also enables the Academy to expand its provision of Continuing Professional Education courses and the new ICPAS Lunchbox Series to the working adults within the accounting profession and non accounting profession respectively.

In addition, the city campus also deepens the presence of ICPAS and SAA in the fast growing Singapore academic scene and brings them closer to the working professions the city. With the proximity, it provides the convenience and accessibility for its members and working adults in the city. ICPAS hopes this would be an added appeal to them to take advantage of the SAA courses for their advancement.
